School Profile

Todd County Middle School is located in the heart of the city of Elkton which is in the western part of Kentucky and borders the Tennessee state line.  Also located in Todd county are the towns of Guthrie and Trenton, both located near the city of Clarksville, Tennessee.  The county is strong in agriculture and many students come from families who carry on the tradition of farming and other agricultural professions.  In 2018, Novelis, an industrial manufacturing company announced they would be opening a plant in Todd county and bringing 130 well paying jobs to the area. This year Novelis announced an expansion to their current facility and an additional 140 positions will be added to their already thriving workforce.  The addition of Novelis as an employer is bringing more families to this area.  The anticipated growth in our community is creating a need for more housing.  The community is preparing by developing suburban areas and building homes.

Todd County Middle school houses grades 6, 7, and 8.  Students from North Todd Elementary and South Todd Elementary transition here for the middle school years. The enrollment numbers have been trending lower than what was seen before the pandemic. The student population is 72.1% White Non Hispanic, 11.3% African American, 10.6% Latino or Hispanic students, and 6% Other population.  The total enrollment was 423, and 13.2% of the students received special education services with an IEP while 0.4% were ELL learners.
